I just stumbled across this solution. My wife's company does surveys for multiple companies on a recurring basis.  These can span multiple locations, targeted reps, etc.

Is it possible to create surveys on a monthly basis for customer X, and let customer X admin see all of their survey results, without giving access to all survey results?

Is it possible to allow an end user to access only a specific survey assigned to them?  Can that span multiple customers (in my above scenario)?

Is there an web-enabled API so that a custom mobile app could be built?

Appreciate your help on this.

Hello,

Thank you for showing an interest in SP. I hope I can answer (part of) your questions and understand them correctly:

- the current SP version (SP 2.3) isn't fully equipped to (formally) support multi tennant features, however it's possible to make use of the existing role and roleright features to probably accomplish the setting you are looking for;

1. to support admin access for multiple clients
- the SP admin account will have access to all surveys and features and cannot be limited;
- however a new user account can be created
- next give the new account access to any/ all or a particular list of surveys (e.g. customer x surveys only)
- next create a role including all rolerights needed to "administer" the surveys

The Role/ Rolerights setup is quite flexible and determines access/ authorisation to the different features of the SP tool.

In this way its possible to create a surveys and directory structure where only the customer x "administrator" account can access their own surveys.

2. end user access to specific/ assigned survey
- that is possible
- there are many different ways to give access to surveys eg as a registered user of the SP tool or by giving access to a survey url through (mail)invitations etc.
- several security addins are available to regulate and control access

To "span multiple customers"  there are different options:
- one survey that can be accessed by endusers of several/ different customers --> possible but be aware that the results/ reports cannot distinguish between the different customer "enduser groups" 
- is quite easy to copy/ clone an existing survey so each customer "enduser group" will have their own version of the survey in which case there will be no problem separating results.

3. web enabled API
- yes there is, basically its the survey custom control (C# asp.net) through which the surveys are presented in the webpage through the SurveyMobile.aspx page;
- a mobile version of the page and control is part of the projectgoals of SP however we are alway willing to cooperate or find ways to join forces
